Arlington Trip

Parker had a follow up appointment so we decided to make a mini vacation out of it!  We also had a very long list of things we needed for the two weddings coming up and hadn't had a chance to look so it was a perfect oppurtunity. We went on a Sunday afternoon and did a little bit of shoping in the outlet mall in Arlington before meeting Chris and Kendi for supper and a little swim time at the hotel. Ian and Kinzlee finished last summer as little water bugs and they picked up right where they left off!  Parker on the other hand hasn't quite warmed up to the swimming pool idea though. He did get in with daddy holding him and didn't want to float by himself at all. We all intended on getting in the water so I didn't take my phone or camera down to the pool so have no pictures :-/.

Monday was our designated day of shopping and we had plans to end the day with putt putt. We had a VERY successful day as far as wedding shopping but by the time supper came around, Parker wasn't acting like he felt well and felt like he was running a fever. Of course, this was the trip that I decided we didn't need the thermometer or any meds!  Much to the disappoint of the other two (and mom if I must admit) we decided putt putt wouldn't be the best idea and went ahead and went back to the hotel after supper and stopping for some medicine. We spent the rest of the evening watching American ninja warrior and wrestling a feverish toddler between us in a queen bed. The kids (and Kendon) did so good with the FULL day of shopping!

Thankfully Parker woke up feeling much better and we were able to carry on with our plans for the day- the Fort Worth Zoo!  He had his appointment at 9 and then a day full of the zoo it was!  These kids LOVE any type of zoo or aquarium so the excitement was high!  It got hot and muggy very quickly but we saw all we wanted to see and were back in the car ready for a couple of more stops (do I dare!!!???) before heading home.   I promised them milk shakes after my stops and they were content and ready to shop some more. We were a tired group of five by the time we got home- but we had a very fun couple of days away!
