Sunday- Coex Aquarium!

Sunday 2/23

This was the one thing (besides picking up Parker) that we have been able to talk to the kids about for a while and that they have been excited about.   They absolutely LOVE zoos and aquariums- so to be able to do this in another country around the world was extra exciting.  Today was the day we told them we would go.  We would have loved to take Parker with us but we had no idea how he was going to be doing and didn't want to take the chance of not getting to go.  We were again up early, but not 2!  We were up about 4 so we still had some time to kill before we could head out- the aquarium didn't open until 10.  It was gonna take almost a hour to get there on the subway, so we were still able to leave the hotel around 8:30 to get Mcdonalds before we headed that way.  On our walk through the mall it was in (which was completely closed for renovation) Ian and BBob spotted something at the same time and were ECSTATIC!!!

 The aquarium was everything we could have hoped for and a perfect activity for the kids!

After the aquarium we decided to go to one of the stops we didn't get to go yesterday.  The Hanok Village, which is a traditional Korean village like it would have been in the older times.  There were houses set up like they would have been.  As we were walking up the street, a very nice man very quickly walked up to us asking if we wanted a tour guide.  It was a free service from students and it would be in English!  Of course, we took them up on the offer and off we went with our nervous, very smart and good guide.

We made our way back to the hotel on the subway after the village.

 

The kids and Bbob made another trip to the hot tub and Kendon and I went back down to the street market (Insadong) to finish up our gift/souvenir shopping as it could be our last opportunity. Of course, a stop for ice cream!

 When we came back up we decided to head over to Outback for one last (possibly) nice supper as our group of 6.  This picture explains how this trip went and also how the rest of the evening went. :-)
