We left here and went to a hamburger place we saw last trip and didn't try- they made some very good hamburgers! Parker did very well during this outing and got fussy a little only when he got sleepy. Which he happily took a nap in the ergo carrier. After lunch we went back to the hotel to pack up our stuff.
What a daunting task! It was all going pretty good until about a hour or so in to the packing and then it became one of the more fussy/difficult afternoons we had. After realizing what we were doing and thinking about it from Parker's point- of course it was one of the more difficult days! Suitcases strung everywhere, clothes and food being packed away, toys slowing disappearing in a suitcase or backpack here and there- where in the world are you guys taking me now and who will I be with!!!???? We did break up the monotony of packing with one last trip to the hot tub- how could we tell these sweet faces no??!!
Today is also my birthday! I could not ask for a better birthday than to have all 3 (and Kendon) of my flock with me and in my care! Love my little family that I feel is now complete! Back to packing....... We finally got all of our stuff packed except last minute things we needed for the morning. Suitcases were all within the weight limit with room to spare!!!! Bedtime was a little more rough tonight.... I feel again attributed to the packing.
A little bit here about bonding. We feel very good at this point about Parker bonding with Kendon and I. He refers to us as omma (mom) and appa (dad) and even sometimes calls us mommy and daddy (especially if he hears Ian and Kinzlee calling us that). Even when he is upset and very obviously grieving at night (sobbing- hard- and calling for omma and appa which is also what he called his foster mom and dad), he still wants to be comforted by us. He wants us to hold him, sit near him on the couch or be carried in the ergo carrier. In any adoption, this is very uncertain. These kids ALL grieve but they ALL grieve different. We are very thankful and blessed that he will allow us to comfort him in his grief.
