Several random things......

First I have to say a huge congratulations to our good friends who started the adoption process with us and finalized the adoption of their son this week..... What an amazing journey that we have been so blessed to be a part of and to walk along you guys with. We love you guys!

An interview update and a video- wow! I'll start with the written update. Our agency sent a staff member to South Korea and we were able to send three questions for them to talk to Parker's foster mom about. I want to share a part of one of the questions.... We asked her to describe his personality and temperament. He is described as quick-tempered.... He is jealous of the other foster child in the home and feels he needs to be held when the baby is being held and he is described as a picky eater. He is on target developmentally and claps when he is in a good mood. He also likes any kind of toy that has music and starts dancing as soon as he hears the music. If you know anything about our family this probably sounds very familiar and describes another child in our home, Kinzlee! When we read that update we just had to laugh because it sounded like it was describing her.

The video...... Wow, some emotions I didn't really expect. They video taped him playing for a little while and then of them opening the package that we had sent for him. In the package was a tagging blanket that my mom made that we had slept with for several weeks before sending it, an outfit, and a board book that had several pictures of us. It brought tears of joy initially to actually see him playing and see how healthy and happy he was. This was his first time to see any pictures of us- and we got it on video!!! It was so cool to see him touch the pictures and 'coo' when he saw us! It was the emotions that came after that that I didn't really expect. The longing to bring him home was suddenly more intense. Seeing him playing and healthy and happy made it so much harder to just sit and wait..... All of those experiences that we are missing out on.... The new noises, finding his toes, falling over to get a toy...... We are missing all of those things and it is so hard to just sit and wait! But wait we must do and will continue to do with purpose and joyful anticipation.

The kids were pretty excited to see him on the video.... Kinzlee in particular. You can ask her if she wants to watch a movie and which one and she will likely say "Parker". Her questions have also increased the last couple of weeks about when he will come home. She will just out of the blue say, "I'm ready for Parker to come home." Talk about melt a mommas heart! "Me too baby, me too!"

One more story and I'm done with this post, I just want to be able to have these little stories for later..... We took some pictures this last week with a globe and a few other things (coming soon!), so we borrowed a globe and had it in our house for several days. After being shown a couple of times you could spin the globe around and Kinzlee would be able to go back and find South Korea. If you aren't familiar with South Korea, it is VERY small..... Funny thing was that she couldn't go back and find Texas, which is at least four times the size of South Korea! Silly girl!
